Airport Management Training

Certified Member Review course covering AAAE’s Certified Member Body of Knowledge; Jeff Price is the lead author of the CM materials and conducts all on-site CM training and all training for the Loretta Scott CM Academy. The course is 5 days in length, plus ½ day for the exam. Offered through the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

Airport Security Training

Airport Security Coordinator, 1-day course that provides the basic training to be an ASC. Offered through AAAE.

Airport Certified Employee-Security (ACE-Security); prepares individuals to take the exam to earn their ACE-Security designation. 4.5 days in length (½ day for the exam). Offered through AAAE.

Security for Airport Ops Personnel, 2-day course that instructs airport operations personnel how to conduct a daily security inspection (similar to the Part 139 safety inspection), addresses airport personnel roles during incidents such as active shooter, bomb threat, and other unlawful acts; baseline suspicious awareness/behavior detection training. Offered through AAAE.

Advanced Aviation Security, 3-day course that we have been teaching for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey that focuses on advanced airport security topics such as threat mitigation, current and future threats, incident management planning, and insider security.


Airport Operations and Emergency Management 

Airport Emergency Management, a 3-day course that teaches the principles involved in an airport emergency and its functional elements. The course incorporates a NIMS review. Offered through AAAE.Basic Airport Safety and Operations Specialist (ASOS), 2-day presentation-based course meeting annual recertification training requirements for airport inspectors. (AAAE).

Advanced Airport Safety and Operations Specialist, 2-day exercised-based course meeting annual recertification training requirements for airport inspectors (AAAE).

Pilot Perspective, a 3-day course providing airport ops and management personnel the pilot’s perspective on the world and the airport. (AAAE).

Radio Command and Incident Report Writing, 2–day course that teaches airport operations personnel basic incident report writing skills, and how to “take command” of a situation on scene, including basic radio communication techniques. (Leading Edge Strategies).

ICS for Aviation, a 2-day course that focuses on teaching the NIMS ICS 100/200 and 700 materials, but in an aviation an a scenario based context, so personnel can actually understand and implement the ICS system during an actual emergency. Through Leading Edge Strategies; personnel must first complete ICS 100/200/700.

Turnkey emergency and security management exercise and training services (after a TEPW workshop, Leading Edge Strategies will manage, design and facilitate required exercises, Part 139, Part 1542, etc.), for a period of five years.

Exercise design and facilitation is often done with Justin Overholt, an airport rescue firefighter and certified exercise designer, emergency management trainer.

Expert Witness: Served as an expert witness on the 9/11 case against the airports (Massport, PANYNJ and MWAA), and have served as an expert witness or advisor in aviation security and safety operational practices.

The American Association of Airport Executives is pleased to announce the launching of the very first Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) Online Certification, making it easier for airport security workers to meet federal requirements while saving airports time and money. This is an on-demand course, so just pay and get started!

Title 49 CFR Part 1542 requires that an Airport Security Coordinator and a designated alternate attend ASC training (TSR 1542.3). By taking the Airport Security Coordinator Online Certification, an ASC will learn the latest information available from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), in addition to tools that can make an airport function safely and efficiently. Join us for a unique opportunity to get trained as an ASC in as little as 2.5 hours!
